On the 24th of October 2019, the conference “CHANCES” organized by the University of Bologna took place in Bologna (Italy).

For InnovaConcrete, Błażej Ciarkowski of the University of Lodz was invited to participate with a presentation entitled “In search for authenticity in a post-socialist city. Adaptive re-use of socialist modernist architectural heritage in Poland”. The speech focused on the changes of social reception of post-war concrete architecture in Poland, different aspects of preservation and conservation and the role of projects like “InnovaConcrete” in enhancing the social awareness of concrete-based cultural heritage in post-socialist cities.
