The InnovaConcrete partners Jorge González Coneo, Rafael Zarzuela, Farid  Elhaddad, Luis M. Carrascosa, M.L. Almoraima Gil, together with the Project Coordinator María J. Mosquera from the University of Cádiz have just published a paper entitled “Alkylsiloxane/alkoxysilane sols as hydrophobic treatments for concrete: A comparative study of bulk vs surface application”. The article attempts to explain a strategy to mitigate the impact of water and waterborne decay agents (e.g. salts, microorganisms) on concrete elements.
