International Tourism Conference 2019

5-9 November 2019 | Dubrovnik (Croatia)

From November 5th to 9th, the International Tourism Conference entitled “TOURISM IN THE VUCA WORLD: TOWARDS THE ERA OF (IR)RESPONSIBILITY” took place in Dubrovnik (Croatia).

The Conference was organised by the Institute of Tourism in Croatia, member of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
The conference was a multidisciplinary, transdisciplinary and post-disciplinary event, with the key goal of bridging the gap between tourism theory and practice from different points of view: environment, heritage management, accommodation, etc.
At the conference, Gema Ramirez Guerrero by the University of Cádiz had a lecture entitled “20th Century concrete heritage: Ecosystem services approach for its valuing and tourist use”. During this lecture, she had the opportunity to describe the tourism potential of the different services provided by concrete heritage with a high cultural value and how this approach can be used to enhance the concrete heritage from the tourism point of view.
